Sofia's big fashions stores, small markets and tiny hidden shops in the narrow city center streets are hard to resist. The main shopping heart of town is around Vitosha Boulevard. A number of famous brand stores, such as Sisley, MNG, United Colors of Benetton, Kookai, are concentrated there. In the small streets leading off Vitosha Blvd., one can find interesting small designer stores, antique shops or cozy cafeterias where one can take a rest. Other good shopping streets are Graf Ignaitiev Str., Rakovski Str., Slaveikov sqaure. Do not miss the Central Department Store (TzUM), recently restored and rennovated, housing more than 50 shops under one roof.
Recently two new malls opened doors in Sofia - Sofia City Center and the Mall of Sofia. The Sofia City Center is located across Hemus Hotel (just about 200 meters from Hilton). The Mall of Sofia is situated on the corner of Stamboliiski Boulevard and Opulchenska Str. and here one can find famous brands as Esprit, Capasca, MNG, Hush Puppies, Hot Spot, Etere, Credo and many more. The last floor houses a food court and a daycare center where you can leave your child under the care of English speaking nannies. The cost is 6 Leva per hour.
Bulgarian brands that are worth the attention are:
Batty Baleno by Rila Stil - business and casual wear for young ladies Ninka
Capasca
Dika (not quite sure whether it's a Bulgarian or Greed brand, but the quality is quite good, the store is located on Vitosha Blvd, just about 50 meters away from the intersection with Patriarh Evtimii Blvd.)
Sale time in Bulgaria usually comes later than in other parts of Europe and sales are not as attractive as the ones in Vienna, Berlin and Paris. Prices keep more or less the original levels and remain quite high even at these times.
